Hey, I'm Preeti!
A mom, author, photographer, and editor of The Yummy Delights. I’ve always loved home-cooked meals. For me, food is all about joy, not complicated steps and prep.
With my husband Rajeev, I share quick, flavorful, family-friendly recipes that you can easily make at home.
🌟What Makes The Yummy Delights Different
- 🍛 Made from Scratch: No premade sauces or curry bases. I use fresh ingredients and homemade spice blends like homemade biryani masala or this quick 5-minute curry powder for authentic flavor.
- ⏳ Smart Shortcuts: Traditional Indian recipes made easier, like my quick Patoli and Maharashtrian Puran Poli.
- 👉 Makes Everyday Cooking Easy: Meals ready in under 30 minutes, such as pressure cooker chicken curry or pressure cooker egg biryani.
- 💛 My Food Story: South Indian roots, North Indian upbringing, and Goan life, all are blended into recipes you won’t find anywhere else.
🌟My Food Journey
I grew up surrounded by the aroma of Indian spices and the warm chatter of my mom and grandma in the kitchen, where my love for food began.
Born into a South Indian family but raised mostly in North India, where my father’s work had taken us, I got the best of both culinary worlds, from family recipes to inspiration from chefs like Sanjeev Kapoor's Khana Khazana.
I hold a Master’s in Business Education and have worked with reputed firms. Now in Goa with my husband, Rajeev, and kids, I’ve embraced coastal flavors, learning authentic Mangalorean dishes like Chicken Ghee Roast and Chicken Sukka from my mother-in-law, and traditional Goan recipes from my neighbor.

🌟 Cooking Experience
While working at a hospitality institute, I assisted professional chefs during staff events and watched students cook in professional kitchens. These experiences gave me insights into restaurant-style techniques and the secret tips that I now incorporate into my website's recipes.
When my twins turned two, I started The Yummy Delights on YouTube, sharing recipes that soon found a home on my website. Over time, I’ve blended my roots, travels, and restaurant-inspired techniques into every dish. Today, blogging is not just a passion; it’s a part of my daily life.
🌟Inspired by Mediterranean Flavors
I love Mediterranean cuisine for its fresh and wholesome flavors. It shares many similar ingredients with Indian cuisine, like spices, herbs, and vegetables.
Inspired by my travels, I’ve shared many Mediterranean recipes, with favorites like One-Pot Mediterranean Chicken & Rice and Mediterranean Chicken Stew. These recipes are favorites among my readers on Pinterest for their flavor and simplicity. Here's what they say...
💬 Lori, I've made this Mediterranean chicken and rice several times for my household; everyone loves it. Reheats well for lunch the next day. I serve it with a Greek salad, and it's a perfect weeknight dinner.

🌟More About Me & The Yummy Delights
I wanted a name that feels warm, inviting, and full of joy, just like the recipes I love to create. Every bite should be a little moment of happiness. This name was an idea from my elder daughter, Shreya.
Life, travel, and family moments. Sometimes a memory of my grandmother’s kitchen sparks a recipe, sometimes a street food adventure does.
The curries on this site are inspired by restaurant-style flavors but made simple for home cooking. Most recipes are quick, ready in about 30 minutes, and made from scratch for a fresh, authentic taste.
For someone new to curries, I’d recommend starting simple and quick:
1) Pressure Cooker Chicken Curry: It’s simple, cooks fast within 30 minutes, and teaches the basics of balancing spices and gravy consistency. You’ll get the satisfaction of a hearty, flavorful Indian curry without spending hours in the kitchen.
2) Paneer Masala Dhaba Style: Also great for beginners, especially if you want a vegetarian option. Paneer is easy to cook, and you can practice making a smooth and flavorful masala.
✅ Tip: Start with whichever matches your preference - meat or vegetarian, but keep the spice levels moderate. Taste and adjust the spices.
