Microwave chocolate mug cake recipe made with simple ingredients easily available in the kitchen pantry. This mug cake is moist & has a gooey chocolaty center.
microwave, microwave-safe ceramic mug
unsweetened cocoa powder
reduce if you prefer less sweet
salt (a pinch)
(should not have any strong smell)
dark chocolate compound
(as required to create the molten center.) You can use milk chocolate too.
In a microwave-safe ceramic mug, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, baking powder & coffee powder. Mix it gently with a fork.
Next, stir in milk, vanilla essence & oil.
To create lava in the center, place a small cube of a dark chocolate compound in the middle. Do not stir it.
Microwave on high (700 w) for 80 seconds. Every microwave is different; the timings may vary with your mug cake.

Place a microwave-safe plate under the mug to help keep the microwave clean.
Use a fork to mix all the ingredients.
While mixing milk, add milk little by little & mix. Make sure there are no lumps formed in the batter.
Adding coffee powder is optional but coffee & chocolate are a beautiful combination.
You can also bake it on convection mode at 180 degrees C in the preheated oven. Bake for 15 minutes.

Instead of using a dark chocolate compound, you can use milk chocolate too. Or use chocolate chips.
